Coronavirus - Help us to help you

From Monday 12 April 2021, our branch opening hours will be: Monday to Friday 9am – 3pm and Saturday 9am to 12pm.  Branch telephones will be open Monday to Friday 9am to 4.30pm.

Our telephone opening hours at Principal Office are 9am – 6pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 12pm on Saturdays.

Please note visitors to our branches and Principal Office will be required to wear a face covering.

Savings from the melton

Charges applied to savings accounts

When you take out a savings account with the Society, there are normally no charges associated with the general operation of your account.  However, there may be times where charges will be applied

Name of charge What this charge is for How much is the charge?
Unpaid cheque If you pay a cheque into your savings account and there are insufficient funds available to meet this payment, if the cheque has not been signed, or where the bank has stopped the cheque, we will charge your account with this fee. £15.00
Replacement passbook Replacing your passbook – Branch accounts only.  (Customers may have 1 free replacement each calendar year). £15.00
Telegraphic Transfers (TT’s) If you need us to arrange a telegraphic transfer of funds from your savings account to another bank account held in your name. (We do not process international TT’s). £25.00

If our charges are increased or new ones added, we will notify you at least 30 days before implementation.
